July 2011: new epn parking avenue des Martyrs

Starting in September 2011, the number of car parkings on the EPN Science Campus will drop significantly, notably close to the Central Building of the ESRF. The reasons are the civil construction works for the ESRF Experimental Hall extensions and, to a lesser extent, the new site entrance.

ILL, EMBL and ESRF have therefore rented the « Parking Schneider » on the other side of the rue des Martyrs.

Access is possible for everybody from mid-July 2011 to March 2013, from 7:00 to 19:00.
 

Access to the EPN Science Campus is then possible through a temporary pedestrian site entrance close to the ESRF Central Building, using a «tourniquet» unblocked by your badge.

Obviously, the new car parking is mainly for ESRF staff and users, along with people working in the PSB and EMBL buildings. For ILL staff and users, the parking close to the main entrance will be more convenient … except possibly for those arriving from Sassenage who want to beat the traffic jams at the rond-point de la résistance, notably in the evenings. A foldable scooter might be the trick to shorten the time needed to commute between your car and your office!
