The PDIE commission: 2014 under review, projects to come... and a happy new year!

The association PDIE Grenoble Presqu’île (Plan de Déplacement Inter-Etablissements) would like to wish you all the very best for a happy and sustainably mobile 2015!

Over the past year, our association, which brings together many of the organisations located on the Presqu'île Scientifique, has been actively involved in helping to improve your daily commute.
The role of the PDIE is not only to provide a point of contact between commuters, whatever their mode of transport (bike, public transport, car-sharing...), and the transport authorities, but also to encourage local companies to take greater responsibility for the development of sustainable transport systems.

Throughout 2014, the PDIE focussed its efforts on the following initiatives:

    • collecting feedback from public transport users via a single contact address.
    • sharing information via social media networks (Twitter, Facebook, website)
    • organising awareness campaigns, such as “voir et être vu” (see and be seen) and “respect du code de la route et de la rue” (respecting the rules of the road and the rules of the street) at company entrances
    • distributing safety kits to cyclists
    • promoting a single car-sharing website for people commuting to and from the Presqu’île.
    • organising a Sustainable Mobility Day, which attracted more than 5000 participants
    • taking part in public transport decisions taken by the public transport authority SMTC and the Conseil Général.

In 2015, the members of the PDIE will expand their activities to include new sustainable mobility projects aimed at:

    • developing car-sharing and car-pooling, with the aim of achieving the target of 15 % of users by the end of the year (currently 4%)
    • building partnerships (bike shops, electric vehicle dealerships, banks, …)
    • organising another Sustainable Mobility Day, as well as a series of public conferences on PDE-PDIE initiatives
    • conducting new awareness campaigns
    • developing PDE plans and PDIE groups throughout the Grenoble Métropole area.

To keep up-to-date with the latest news about the PDIE and sustainable mobility, do not hesitate to sign up to our Facebook page or our Twitter account. You can also go to our website to find out more about the activities of the PDIE, its members and its projects.

    With our very best wishes,

The members of the PDIE Grenoble Presqu’île / GIANT
